We believe very strongly that the information on our website should be easy to access by anyone.

Meeting standards

We are committed to complying with the Disability Discrimination Act and have made significant improvements to our new site in order to reduce the barriers experienced by people with disabilities.

Our website has been designed and built to meet the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) web content accessibility 'AA' guidelines.

We are aware, however, that occasionally we do make mistakes. If you find any of our pages inaccessible please email webmaster@kilodesign.com to let us know.

Please include details of the technology you are using and we will make every reasonable effort to either remove the barrier or provide the information in a format that you find acceptable.

Alternative text

We use alternative (alt) text labels on all the graphics on the website. These appear as you hover over the graphic with a mouse and provide a description of the graphic which can be read in screen readers.

Links

All text links within our site have been written so that they make sense when read out of context (eg by screen readers) and have 'alt' text labels.

Change the text size

Site visitors can also change the size of the text on screen by using the settings in their browser as follows:

Downloading documents

Where possible we try to provide downloadable documents in different formats including PDF.

If you have difficulties obtaining information from a PDF you can use Adobe's web-based conversion service to produce an HTML version. However, please be aware that the standard of HTML produced is not very good.

If any downloadable document presents a barrier to accessing information, please email webmaster@kilodesign.com to let us know. Please include details of the document in question, the problems encountered and what we can do to help.

  • The surgery will be closed

    The surgery will be closed for staff training on Tuesday 16th August at 1pm. Service will resume as usual on Wednesday 17th August at 8am.

     

  • Kooth - Free online support service

    Kooth is a free online counselling and emotional well-being support service providing young people aged 11-25 years in Tower Hamlets with a free, safe and secure means of accessing support with their emotional health and wellbeing from a professional team of qualified counsellors. Kooth is a well-established, award winning online counselling service and is accredited by The British Association of Psychotherapy and Counselling (BACP). Founded in 2001, they are leading pioneers of online counselling in the UK, having won a number of prestigious awards.

    Kooth has no referrals or waiting lists. Young people can access this service anonymously by signing on here www.kooth.com

     

  • GDPR

    The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018.

    The Spitalfields Practice sends you texts to remind you of your appointments. We may also send occasional texts inviting you to attend participation group meetings, Open Days and Health Fairs and to invite you to contact us for an appointment when we run Public Health campaigns (for example cervical screening, smoking cessation and sexual health screening). We feel this is an important part of our job looking after your health, and we take our duty of confidentiality to manage your information very seriously.

    We do not and never will share or use your contact details for purposes other than for the benefit of your health. However, if you still feel uncomfortable allowing us to contact you for health purposes, please contact our IT & Administration Manager or Practice Manager and we will make sure your wishes are respected.

    Our patients have access to pre-booked weekend and evening appointments with a GP, Nurse and Pharmacist at one of our neighbouring practices.
